A vintage Pelikan is one of the great pens of the past that any fountain pen lover have to have at least once. It is that good. Pelikan's vintage nib are among some of the best ever made. This pen sports the original 14k gold Pelikan nib which can be screwed out of the section to change with other fitting Pelikan nibs. The color on this nib unit is in good shape with no cracks. The nib writes from a juicy Fine/Medium to BB. Combine this splendid nib with their piston filling mechanism for huge ink capacity, classical timeless styling, and you've got a pen that fountain pen enthusiasts from all over love. This one has brassing on the clip and cap band, but the band has PELIKAN 140 GERMANY which can still easily be seen with the naked eye. I have overhauled the piston filling unit, installed a new rubber seal, and lubed it for exceptionally smooth operation. The clear parts of the striations have superb visibility to inspect ink level. Pen has no cracks, chips, or bite marks. Only some brassing on the gold trim, and the cap top Pelikan logo not as detailed as one would like. Please check pics for a better description. Writing sample is done on .5cm grid on 90gsm Clairefontaine paper. It is a bit blurry on the left side of the sample because the scan was out of a notebook and the left wasn't completely flat against the scan. Measurements for the pen are: 12.5cm capped, 14.1cm posted, and 11.4cm unposted.
