Beautiful P51 Executive size in uncommon Burgundy color. What can I say about a 51 that hasn't been said already? Its one of the most reliable pens of all time. The Aerometric system with its ink collector in the section is great for pressure changes and provides a steady flow of ink. The nibs are smooth and the design is timeless. This one has superb imprints with a date of 1949 during the third quarter. I forgot to take a picture of the date code but rest assured it is deep like the "MADE IN USA" imprint pictures. The cap shows tiny hints of wear, and the clip shows some plating wear as well. The pics actually make the pen look worse than it does in person. The pearlized jewel is intact and is nice and shiny. Clip has superb tension. Clutch ring and cap works together like a champ. The sac in the Aerometric filler is actually a red stained pli-glas sac. I'll leave it since these pli-glas sacs easily outperforms any latex replacement especially since it is still soft and supple. Original 14k gold nib writes a Fine consistent line. Please check pics for a better description. Writing sample is done on .5cm grid on 90gsm Clairefontaine paper. Measurements for the pen are: 13.8cm capped, 15cm posted, and 12.8cm unposted.
