Today I have a very nice vintage Pelikan 140 up for grabs. This one is in excellent condition with no notable damage to speak of. It still even has its original sticker intact. The original Pelikan 14c EF nib is a nice full flex that gives very nice line variation. It is actually amazingly smooth for a EF and is quite a joy to write with. Writes a smooth, shading, beautiful XF-BB. The nib unscrews and gave me a chance to lube the piston seal with a little bit of silicone grease, and the piston is now super smooth when operating. Superb barrel clarity easily lets you know when you're low on ink. Cap is in good condition with excellent trim, and clip has excellent tension. The Pelikan logo on top of the cap is deep, crisp, and highly detailed. There is a scratch between the clip band and the Pelikan logo, but I couldn't capture it in the pics. Another thing the buyer should know is that the plastic nib collar that holds the nib and feed in place has a crack, but has not been a problem even when removing and re-installing the nib unit. I've applied a very very light coating of silicone grease to the collar threads as well and the pen does not leak. This pen would make a superb daily writer for anything that wants a vintage Pelikan with a 14c nib that writes like a champ. Please check pics for a better description. Writing sample is done on .5cm light grid print on HP 24lb laserjet paper. Measurements for the pen are: 12.9cm capped, 14.5cm posted, and 11.5cm unposted.
