A very nice set with both writing instruments performing beautifully. I've just replaced the pistol seal on the FP with fresh silicone grease. It is buttery smooth to operate. The nib on the FP is the original Pelikan 14k gold nib in EF. It writes extremely smooth for its small width, and has a little flex to give it a luxurious feel and a little line variation. The Ballpoint's refill is writing although I don't know how old it is. Both FP and BP are in good shape and makes a handsome pair to fulfill most of your writing needs from writing a nice letter to signing carbon copies. There is a ink stain on the fountain pen's interior which is hardly noticeable when filled. It has superb transparency to show ink level. There is a small scratch near the piston knob. The cap also has a repaired crack, but since it is repaired it seals the pen like it should. Please check pics for a better description. Writing sample is done on .5cm grid 90 gsm Clairefontaine paper. Measurements: 13cm capped, 15cm posted, and 12.5cm unposted. The BP measures 13cm retracted.
