[SOLD]Mabie Todd Blackbird
This Blackbird is in full engine turned Black Hard Rubber. Excellent for collector or lefty if to be used. 100% structurally sound. No cracks, chips, or bite marks. Only some light scratches where the cap meets the barrel. Imprints are superb on this one. Very full and completely legible. Has imprint on cap as well which is slightly worn but legible to the naked eye. Sorry pics don't do it justice. I always have problems with all black pens and trying to get good details in the pics. Nickel trim on the lever is excellent. Has blackbird imprint on section nice and crisp. Excellent threads. Original 14k gold Blackbird nib offers nice flex. Writes from Medium - BB+. The nib has a slight right foot oblique which is good for lefties. Sorry right handers, but I wouldn't recommend this to you unless you write with your pen slightly rotated towards the right. Will still be smooth if you hold the pen perfectly neutral, but the sweet spot would be with the pen slightly rotated towards the right. Pen is perfectly black with no oxidation to the hard rubber. A great specimen, but because of its unique nib is not for everyone. Has a new sac, and ready for a new home. Please check pics for a better description. Writing sample is done on .5cm light grid print on HP 24lb laserjet paper. Measurements for the pen are: 13.5cm capped, 16.7cm posted, and 12.9cm unposted.
