[SOLD]Pelikan 140 Green Striated $120

[SOLD]Pelikan 140 Green Striated

Vintage Pelikans are among some of the best pens to write with. The 140 series are just a touch smaller than the vintage 400 series. Pelikan logo on cap top is deep and detailed. Gold trim is fair. The lever has some trim wear on the edges, and the cap band is in better shape but also has a little bit of wear. The cap band have etchings of "Pelikan 140 Germany." The piston is nice and smooth and draws/expels ink perfectly. These pens have the interchangeable nib units which can be changed with vintage 400 series or modern 200 series nibs. This particular pen has a crack in the nib unit collar, but still writes like a champ. Since the nib collar is cracked if you ever wanted to switch out nibs in the future you just treat the nib and feed as friction fit and grab it with something grippy and pull straight out. This will reveal the collar which you can use a sharp knife to stick and turn the collar out. It is perfectly funcational and the cracked collar does not leak. Excellent transparency on the barrel, so you can easily see the ink level. The nib is a beautiful vintage Full Flex+ writing from a juicy Fine to BBB. Threads are excellent, and overall a superb writer with shading and character! Please check pics for a better description. Writing sample is done on .5cm light grid print on HP 24lb laserjet paper. Measurements: 12.5cm capped, 14.3cm posted, and 11cm unposted.
