[SOLD]Conway Stewart 388 Burgundy Marble
These Conway Stewart 388s' are among my favorites from CS. They are a very nice full size pen, and the finishes are very nice. This one in Burgundy Marble is absolutely gorgeous! Imprints are excellent on this pen. CS logo on lever and clip are nice and detailed. Hard rubber cap top is nice and black without the need for re-darkening. The gold trim shows some wear in places, but actually looks better in person. Clip has excellent tension and is not too tight or loose, just right. Original Conway Stewart 14k gold nib writes smoothly and has a width of Medium with a bit of flex to BB. The nib tends to be a tad scratchy if you write at a very high or steep angle. This is not a problem for 90% of people out there, but I should note it in case you are one of the few people that write with a very steep angle. I'm talking almost straight up vertical steep. At most normal writing angles the nib is very smooth. Future owner should not let the pen barrel or cap get wet since the body is made of Casein. The section is not Casein so as long as some caution is used the pen should last a very long time and provide tons of writing pleasure. Has a new sac, and ready for a new home. Please check pics for a better description. Writing sample is done on .5cm light grid print on HP 24lb laserjet paper. Measurements for the pen are: 12.5cm capped, 15.5cm posted, and 11.5cm unposted.
