Beautiful vintage Pelikan 400nn in Tortoise finish. From the 1950's. The 400nn was the flagship pen from the 400 series. Seals are good, gold trim is good, imprints on cap band is slightly worn, but you can make out "Pelikan 400 Germany" The Pelikan imprint on the top of the cap is good, and the picture does not do it justice. The nib is the original 14k gold Pelikan nib in Medium width with nice flex that goes to BB+. It is very smooth and will glide across paper delivering superb ink flow. The nib unit can be unscrewed and replaced with other Pelikan nib units of the same size if a different width is desired. Pen has been thoroughly cleaned and seals lubed for very smooth action when using the piston to draw/expel ink. Threads are superb and the cap goes on smooth and snug. There are no deep scratches, cracks, chips, or bite marks. The pen is in excellent condition! Please check pics for a better description. Writing sample is done on .5cm light grid print on HP 24lb laserjet paper. Measurements for the pen are: 13cm capped, 14.9cm posted, and 12.3cm unposted.
