This pen isn't the most pretty, but is an excellent user pen. And it should definitely be used since it has a rare #3 nib. Most of these pens came in a #2 nib. Keep in mind this pen has scratches on the section, and wear on some of the gold trim. While the barrel imprints are pretty worn, the model imprint and the Swan motifs on the pen are excellent. The pen is all original with all the proper parts like the screw in section, Swan imprinted hard rubber feed, and original cap with excellent tension on the spring. It is a hard rubber pen and came to me very faded to a light brown. I have darkened the pen with Pen Potion#9. It is the first time I have used a re-darkening agent, and I must say it came out quite well. The pen is a matte black, and the color is uniform. Threads are always very crisp on these series by Swan, because of metal threads. The original #3 Swan 14k gold nib is a joy to write with. A medium point(almost like a small stub) that has tremendous flex to easily BB+(check writing sample). Fitted with a new sac, and ready for a new home. Please check pics for a better description. Writing sample is done on .5cm light grid print on HP 24lb laserjet paper. Measurements are 13.2cm capped, 16cm posted, and 12cm unposted.
