[SOLD]Mabie Todd & Co. BlackBird
Good condition Blackbird with a bit of rubber oxidation, but a beautiful Superflex nib. These Blackbirds are very high quality pens made by Mabie Todd & Co., and I always like to think of them as the competitor to the infamous Waterman 52. Sizes are almost identical, and MT&Co nibs have been known for high quality nibs. This particular one has beautiful Superflex softness, and is very responsive. Writes from a Medium to BBB. Chasing details are a bit lacking, but imprints are sharp and very legible. Threads are crisp, and the cap threads on/off smoothly and snug. Lever actuates perfectly to draw/expel ink. Overall the pen has no physical damage besides some oxidation and a touch of trim wear on the lever. No cracks, chips, or bite marks. Writing sample is done on .5cm grid 90 gsm Clairefontaine paper. Measurements: 13.5cm capped, 16.5cm posted, and 12.5cm unposted.
